Current Instructional Period: June 23- August 10
I take privacy and student confidentiality very seriously, and therefore have implemented multiple protections for students and caregivers alike. Students have rights, and as an aspiring educator and tutor, I respect these rights. For one, all information collected is password locked and deleted after the instructional period has closed. This summer, the instructional period is from June 23 to August 10. I work with many students who have IEPs (Individualized Education Plans), and never discuss student information with anyone unauthorized by the students caregivers.
Information concerning students is all optional, allowing caregivers the option to share as much or as little about their little scholars. The only information that is required is contact information and addresses, again, all of which is deleted immediately after the instructional period. Caregivers do not need to share over personal information.
I utilize the program Class Dojo to communicate with caregivers and keep caregivers in the loop concerning progress on their students. I believe Class Dojo is a much more secure and professional way to communicate. Of course, additional arrangements can be made should a caregiver request.
I require registration to help me organize and meet the needs of all students. Some information I ask for is critical to ensuring I can provide the best services for students. For example: I specifically ask if any student needs any accommodations. This allows me to implement changes to lesson plans and ideas that would best meet the needs of students. I also ask for grade level so I can adapt curriculum to level and work off of applicable standards.
